My grandfather, Thomas Jones, born 1862 in Rhyd-sais, died 1950 in Crugeryr isaf.
His wife, my grand mother, Nansi Davies, was born 1865 in Crugeryr and died in 1915, was daughter of John Davies, who was born and died in Crugeryr (1834-1881), and Magdalen Jones (1841-1912) of Llawrcwrt.
So there they are, two kind, hardworking people. He paid me for cleaning out the stable each morning before school at Talgarreg in late 1939. I last saw him in 1948.
I wonder about the Davies family of early times in Crugeryr. Those that left the farm to find their fortunes elsewhere. Not easy.
